Fiber-Type Influence on the Flexural Behavior of RC Two-Way Slabs with an Opening

Combining fiber with concrete mixes has become essential and its widespread use improves the strength of structural elements. This research conducted an experiment into performance flat slabs without a square opening using four types (hooked-end, straight, corrugated steel polyolefin fiber) to gain better understanding how variance type shape effects flexural behaviors two-way slabs. The test program involved (a) testing properties hardened concrete, such as compressive properties, modulus rupture splitting tensile strength, (b) behavior Ten were divided five pairs, including two specimens used reference (with openings), eight other different fibers. Results revealed that existing in improved mechanical mix, showed higher improvement hooked straight fiber. reinforced slab was significantly enhanced, capacity especially for strengthened hooked-end Polyolefin slight enhancement good capacity. Generally, highest increments 24.8%, 20% 11%, ultimate load-carrying 39%, 13% 19% hooked, fibers, respectively, compared control specimens.
